What happened on your birthday?
Pick your birth year, month, and day. We'll check your exact date first, then real calendar days close to your actual birth date — same year context, not just any random year — and finally other years on your same month and day.
Where this data comes from
Historical events are pulled live from Wikipedia's public "On This Day" feed, which draws from thousands of verified Wikipedia articles — each event links back to its source article. Results are grouped in three tiers: an event counts as your exact match only when its year, month, and day all line up with what you entered; "around your birthday" checks real calendar dates within about a month of your actual birth date — correctly carrying the year across a month or year boundary — and keeps only events whose year matches that specific date, sorted by how close it is to your birthday; "same day, other years" covers the rest of history on your exact month and day, regardless of year. The "days alive" number is a simple calculation from today's date, for fun.
